If you're at all like me, then you have about a million different ideas running through your head at any given moment and the priority of each idea is ever changing. One day organizing my kitchen is number one and then the next painting my daughter's dresser is. Being new to the wonderful world of blogging, I have found SO much inspiration in other blogs and have so many projects burning in my brain, so I decided to list them out and prioritize my projects.
1. Paint my daughter's dresser - This project is a LONG time coming. My 3 year old daughter inherited a dresser that was mine and my sister's growing up and was my Aunt and Uncle's before that... It is by no means an antique or heirloom quality, it's just an old tan dresser in need of a major face lift! This project is number one because I have wanted to do it for so long and because the weather is just so stinking nice outside right now that spending a few hours outside on the weekend to do a little painting sounds just marvelous! Stay tuned this weekend, if it doesn't rain this might just get done Saturday!
2. Clean out my linen closet- This isn't something that should take too much time or effort just another area of the house that could use a good sorting through to see what we really still need and to evaluate the effectiveness of our space. After cleaning out my bedroom closet and seeing just how much extra space can be created I have very high hopes for all of the closets in my house.
3. Finish my closet - This again, shouldn't take too much time or effort. The bulk of this project was cleaning, sorting, trashing and donating and all of those things have been done! All that's left is a little beautification in the way of buying some matching hangers, some nice storage bins and maybe moving a few things around.
4. Organize and line drawers and cabinets in Kitchen - I don't know why this is so far down the list other than maybe I just really don't want to do it. When we moved into our house for some odd reason my husband unpacked
5. Buy a storage system for my son's room - Before we moved into our house we lived in a two bedroom apartment and my son's crib and all of his stuff was kept in our bedroom and honestly he didn't have a lot of toy's out because he was only a baby and what he did have were small, little, soft toys that all fit in a little storage bin. After moving into our house and getting his own room, pulling out some toys from storage that were his older sister's and his first birthday the boy is swimming in toys! He still has the same storage bin but all of his toys don't fit in there - by a long shot. My daughter has a cube storage system and I'm thinking something similar for Colton's room is the best way to go!
6. Paint our master bedroom and bath- I feel like a broken record saying "when we moved into our new house..." every 12 seconds but here we go again; when we moved into our new house we painted every other room in the house except our master bedroom and bath. At the time the other rooms simply took priority and we liked the color in the master and it matched our current linens to boot! But the paint is really blotchy and streaky and I really just want to be able to pick out all new colors for the walls and for the bedding and for the bath! I'm probably the most excited for this project and I'm placing it further down the list so that I can save and really do what I want with the space not just what I can afford at the moment.
7. Organize the laundry room and the front hall closet - Another day, another closet. This closet has a ton of random shelves that I think might be coming out. I want to go through what is currently in it and decide what I want to go in it and then go from there! And the laundry room is just a mess! It might seem silly to have a closet/ laundry renovation at the end of the list but it's for a good reason: I want a new washer and dryer. I want a top of the crazy line, front loading, steam sanitizing, all the bells and whistles washer and dryer. But as we all know wanting and having - not the same thing. So this may take 2 years but the day will come when I have saved up what most people use as a down payment on a car and I get to walk my happy little behind into Lowe's and pick out the Brangelina of washers and dryers. I cannot wait.
So there, roughly, is my list. I know things will probably not go exactly in that order and there will probably be a bajillion smaller projects that make their way in-between these big ones but these are the biggest ones racing through my head today. I can't wait to cross off each and every one of them and I will blog about them as I go!
